Give local customers another option
Same-day delivery can address purchases that ordinary shipping cannot get there in time for. Start by identifying the products and nearby customers for whom that would be useful.
Explore how same-day delivery could fit your Lightspeed business. The native integration is planned; help shape a practical workflow by sharing how your team takes, prepares and hands over local orders.

A reason to choose local

A busy shop has an order ready for a customer nearby, but sending a staff member out would leave the counter short. An integrated local delivery workflow could help the team coordinate collection without leaving the business. The detail matters: the relevant location, the product line you use, the readiness signal and the person who owns exceptions.
For Lightspeed merchants, the useful starting point is location ownership, preparation signals and the staff permissions needed to request delivery. A focused pilot should test the whole handover before it becomes a customer-facing promise.
Built around the way you sell
Same-day delivery can address purchases that ordinary shipping cannot get there in time for. Start by identifying the products and nearby customers for whom that would be useful.
A coordinated collection could help avoid ad hoc staff delivery runs. Agree who packs the order, where a driver would collect it and how readiness would be communicated.
Plan how a Lightspeed sale would connect to the recipient, tracking and follow-up.
From order to handover
Local delivery can begin with a clear staff handover before it becomes a native POS feature. While the Lightspeed integration is planned, use the RentADriver console to arrange suitable orders your team has already confirmed. Keep the sale or ticket in Lightspeed and give the delivery its own reference, owner and collection instructions.
Agree which location will prepare the goods and which staff member confirms they are ready. Enter the actual collection point in RentADriver, including a contact and access instructions. Your preparation routine should fit the Lightspeed product line and business you run, whether a retail counter or another suitable order workflow.
Review the sale's payment and readiness in Lightspeed before entering the delivery request in the console. Add the receiving person's details and an accurate description of the packed goods. Keep the sale or ticket reference alongside the booking so a shift change does not separate the delivery from its original customer request.
Follow the delivery in RentADriver and share the tracking link through the customer channel you normally use. Record the reference and outcome in the team's existing Lightspeed or handover notes. That gives the next shift a clear starting point if the customer calls, while sale and delivery updates remain separately managed.
Review the delivery quote separately from the Lightspeed sale or ticket. Agree any customer charge through your normal process and keep funds available for the booking. Your collection location and final package details determine the request being priced.

Same-day delivery depends on service coverage, order eligibility, preparation time and driver availability. A quote is an estimate; review the terms and delivery details before booking.

Keep the day running smoothly
Confirm the collection address with the team preparing the order. Different opening hours, entrances and stock locations can make an otherwise familiar customer request a different delivery arrangement.
Check suitability and packaging before booking. Describe what will travel, its size and any handling requirements; do not assume a standard local delivery provides temperature control or other specialist transport.
Leave the delivery reference, parcel location and contact instructions with the next team. If the journey is already in progress, inspect its status and involve support before arranging another collection.

A native Lightspeed integration is not available for self-service setup. Register your interest to discuss the workflow you need and hear about testing when it opens.
You can check RentADriver coverage and discuss standalone booking or an API-based workflow with our team. Those are separate from a native platform integration and require their own setup.
Include your Lightspeed product line, location count and retail or hospitality workflow, your collection area and typical order sizes. Describe what should trigger delivery and where your team would need to see its progress.
