October 2026

  1. Drivers now need insurance that covers courier work

Personal car insurance usually excludes delivering goods for payment, so every driver's insurance must now include courier or hire-and-reward use. We read each certificate when it is uploaded, and Ops confirms the cover before approving it. Drivers already on the platform have until 6 November 2026 to upload a certificate with this cover and keep taking jobs. The trust, security and drivers pages now describe exactly what we check before a driver's first job: photo ID with a live selfie, the driving licence, the insurance certificate and, in the UK, the vehicle registration against the DVLA register.

  2. Make and n8n sandbox pilots, with clearer automation guides

The automation integration pages now describe the private Make Custom App and self-hosted n8n sandbox pilots, their setup and current testing limits. Zapier has an updated API workflow guide with quote approval and event polling. The native Zapier and Slack apps remain planned; the guides distinguish pilots from public installations.

  3. RentADriver is on the Shopify App Store

RentADriver for Shopify has been approved and published on the Shopify App Store. Install it from apps.shopify.com/rentadriver, approve the permissions, and the app creates your RentADriver account, syncs your pickup locations and offers a same-day rate at checkout where your plan supports third-party calculated shipping. Paid orders book a driver and the tracking link is written back to the order.

September 2026

  1. RentADriver Delivery is on WordPress.org

The RentADriver Delivery plugin for WooCommerce is now listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory. Install it from your WordPress admin (Plugins → Add New Plugin → search “RentADriver Delivery”) or from wordpress.org/plugins/rentadriver-delivery, connect your store, and offer live same-day delivery quotes at checkout. WooCommerce joins Wix and Squarespace as a live integration.

  2. City to city is now same day to neighbouring cities

City-to-city deliveries now do one thing: same-day delivery from a launch city to a neighbouring launch city up to 160 km away by road, with one dedicated driver who collects within about an hour. The price is the local rate card of the city you send from plus an allowance for the drive back, with no speed tiers, surge or peak factor. Deliveries must arrive by 21:00 local time; a later booking is collected the next morning. Longer routes such as New York to Chicago are no longer offered: a parcel network is cheaper for those. GET /v1/intercity/lanes now lists every city's neighbouring cities with a same-day sample price, and the express, standard and shared speed values are still accepted but all mean same day.

    apiintercitywebsite
  3. Short videos and worked examples on five delivery guides

The guides on same-day delivery APIs, courier API pricing, sending a parcel the same day in the UK, in-store pickup with local delivery, and Shopify local delivery now each open with a short video. Below the steps you will find a worked example: the two API calls and the webhooks that follow, the live London rate card with its size, timing and vehicle multipliers, all 32 UK towns with their postcode areas and starting prices, a click-and-collect order turning into a delivery, and what a same-day option looks like at checkout and on the order.

  4. Every city page is now a local courier page

The pages for our 73 cities now answer what people search for locally: a same-day courier in their town. Each page shows how to send a parcel across the city today, the postcode areas we collect from in the UK, a van option for bulky items, and answers to "is there a courier near me", "can I send a parcel from another town" and "do you take large items". Every active city is now open for booking and listed in search, and the quote box starts in the city you are looking at. New guides cover same-day delivery APIs, courier API pricing, sending a parcel the same day in the UK, in-store pickup with local delivery, and adding same-day delivery to Shopify.

  5. MCP tools describe their effects more precisely

Every RentADriver MCP tool now tells the AI host exactly what it does. get_quote and get_intercity_quote are marked read-only, so a host no longer asks for confirmation just to price a trip. Messaging the driver, rating a driver and opening a dispute are no longer flagged as destructive, because they only add a record. Only tools that reach someone outside your account are marked as open-world: booking or paying a real driver, messaging the driver, x402 payments and webhooks. Tools that hold or move money, cancel, revoke, delete or overwrite still ask for confirmation.

  6. Squarespace: stay signed in for 30 days

RentADriver for Squarespace now remembers your sign-in in that browser for up to 30 days after you connect your site or sign in with an API key, so reopening rentadriver.ai/squarespace no longer asks you to sign in again. Sign out ends it at once, and disconnecting the store or revoking the API key still ends every session.

  7. Connect RentADriver to Claude with your account

Adding RentADriver as a Claude connector (Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → https://mcp.rentadriver.ai/mcp) now signs you in the same way the console does: Continue with Google, an email or SMS code, or create your account right on the consent screen — no API key to paste. Sandbox approvals were also fixed, so 'Allow with a sandbox account' gives any host a working 24-hour test connection with simulated drivers.

  8. The console preview now sits under the sign-in form

The guided walkthrough of the client console — the live map, a delivery with its timeline and proof, booking in three fields, the wallet with caps and team roles — now appears below the sign-in form as well as on the home page, so anyone landing on the console page sees what they get before creating an account.

  9. Book a demo in two clicks

A booking page at rentadriver.ai/book (and book.rentadriver.ai) shows our live availability in your time zone: pick a day, pick a time, add your name and email, and a 30-minute walkthrough of same-day delivery for your business is in both calendars — with a confirmation email, calendar links, reminders and a link to move or cancel. Businesses we contact directly get a personal link that greets them by name. Book a demo buttons now sit in the navigation, the footer, pricing, integrations and the operations pages.

  10. Install the Shopify app from the App Store

Installing RentADriver for Shopify now starts on the Shopify App Store instead of a store-domain form on our site. Shopify identifies your store, shows the permissions once and opens the app inside your admin — nothing to type, and the same flow on the for-shops and Shopify integration pages. If Shopify sends you to our app URL directly, the install begins straight away.

  11. Docs sections you can scan

The route and traffic, country workspace, funding, intercity, proof, webhook, Shopify, prohibited-items and MCP sections of the API docs are now laid out as titled fact cards, numbered steps, tag rows and per-client install commands instead of long paragraphs. Every sentence is still there; it is just easier to find.

  12. Sign in to the console with Google or Apple, or create an account there

The console sign-in page now offers Continue with Google and Continue with Apple next to the email and SMS codes, and a Create account tab so a team can start without visiting the developer pages. A Google or Apple sign-in with an email that has no account yet turns into a one-step sign-up with the email already verified. API keys are no longer typed into the sign-in form; they stay under Developers once you are in.

    consolesecurity
  13. See the console before you sign in

The home page now walks through the client console: the live overview map, a delivery with its timeline and proof, booking in three fields with the price shown first, and the wallet with spending caps and team roles. It is a guided preview with sample data, in all seven languages, for teams that book and track in a browser rather than through an agent.

    consolewebsite
  14. Driver support check-ins during deliveries

Drivers can receive a support check-in during an active delivery and reply through the existing Support conversation when safely stopped. Our team can follow up when help may be needed. This improvement works with the current driver apps.

    supportdrivers
  15. Test store integrations without adding funds

Sandbox admin keys are available for Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and Squarespace connections. Try supported booking flows with simulated drivers before going live. Sandbox deliveries do not charge your wallet or create real deliveries, and simulated completion does not fulfill your store orders. Reconnect with your sandbox admin key to get started.

    integrationsapisandbox
  16. Quotes account for package quantity, weight and volume

Delivery estimates now account for the combined load and handling needs of your packages. Larger loads can require a larger vehicle, including a van, and the quote reflects that choice. Loads beyond supported carrying limits require review. Add accurate quantities, weights and dimensions for a more useful estimate.

    apipricingconsole
  17. More useful quote examples and a refreshed driver app preview

The public quote form uses supported visitor locations when available, offers sample addresses and lets you add package details. Advanced handover options remain in the signed-in console. The driver app page includes an illustrated app preview and store screenshots to explain the delivery experience.

  18. Browser assistant tools and expanded delivery guides

Our WebMCP guide explains how compatible browser assistants discover and use the website’s tools. Updated use-case and comparison pages help you explore delivery workflows, store integrations and options for your business. Browser support varies; the guide explains the available routes.

  19. MCP App: live delivery tracker and quote cards

rentadriver-mcp 0.4.0 ships an MCP App: in Claude and other hosts that support the ui extension, get_delivery renders a tracker card (status, stops, driver, ETA, proof photos, refresh, tracking link) and get_quote a quote card (price, ETA, breakdown, cheaper slots). Read-only by design — booking and payment stay in the conversation.

    mcpagents
  20. Recipient handover codes and clearer payment records

Create recipient handover codes through the console or MCP to support secure delivery confirmation. Country workspaces keep payment records in their own currencies, with clearer refund and delivery payment histories.

    apimcpconsoleops
  21. WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix Stores and Squarespace connectors

Four new store connectors built on one shared layer: connect the store once (WooCommerce API-key approval, BigCommerce and Wix marketplace install, Squarespace OAuth), set radius, cut-off, prep time and the customer price, and orders paid with the 'Same-day by RentADriver' option are booked automatically. Live checkout rates on WooCommerce (free plugin), Wix (shipping rates plugin) and BigCommerce (Shipping Provider API); shipments, fulfillments and order notes carry the tracking link. New MCP tools list_store_orders and book_store_order; REST at /v1/<platform>/orders.

    integrationsmcpapi
  22. One account, separate country wallets

Country workspaces keep local pricing, wallet balances, spending caps, refunds and driver pay in the delivery currency. New MCP tools list_country_workspaces and enable_country_workspace; quote responses expose the required workspace. Console country switching, Shopify funding, recurring deliveries and reporting follow the selected market. Pricing CTAs now open New delivery with the selected estimate settings.

    apiconsolemcppayments
  23. rentadriver-mcp 0.3.0: browser sign-in from the CLI

`npx -y rentadriver-mcp login` opens the RentADriver consent page and stores an OAuth token set locally (PKCE, loopback redirect, auto-refresh for 30 days) — no key to paste. `setup` now offers browser sign-in, an API key, or creating an account; `whoami` and `logout` round it off.

    mcpagents
  24. OAuth sign-in for the remote MCP server

mcp.rentadriver.ai now implements the MCP authorization spec: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. Add it as a remote server in Claude, Cursor or VS Code and approve it on rentadriver.ai/oauth/authorize — no API key to paste. Scopes read and write, 1-hour tokens with 30-day refresh, connected apps listed and revocable in the console and via GET/DELETE /v1/oauth/connections. rentadriver-mcp 0.2.0 on npm.

    mcpagentssecurity
  25. MCP server published on npm

rentadriver-mcp 0.1.0 is on the npm registry: `npx -y rentadriver-mcp` starts the stdio server with the full tool set, and `--http` serves it over HTTP. Claude Desktop, Cursor and any MCP client can add it with one config line; API key via RENTADRIVER_API_KEY.

    mcpagents
  26. SMS notification program page and an explicit opt-in

A public SMS program page at /sms sets out what RentADriver texts (one-time sign-in codes and transactional delivery notifications, no marketing), who receives it, that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, and how to stop (reply STOP) or get help (reply HELP or support@rentadriver.ai). The founding-driver signup form gained a separate, optional, unticked SMS consent checkbox next to the phone field; the decision and the exact wording shown are stored with the signup.

    websitenotifications
  27. Glossary, trust page, country pages, interactive API reference

New pages: /glossary, /trust, /for-ops, /vs alternatives hub, per-country landing pages for AU, UK, US and CA, and step-by-step setup guides for Shopify, WooCommerce, Square and Zapier. Docs gained an interactive Try-it reference, a Postman collection and Python/TypeScript snippets. Dark mode and a sandbox colour tone across the site.

    websitedocs
  28. Pricing pages describe the client price only

All public pages, the console and the machine-readable surfaces (llms.txt, agents.json, OpenAPI summaries) now describe the price, breakdown, pickup milestone and cancellation fee from the client's side in all seven languages.

    websiteapi
  29. Intercity deliveries: city to city, same day

POST /v1/quotes accepts service: auto | local | intercity and speed: express | standard | shared. Tiered per-kilometre pricing, deadhead allowance, lane tolls and declared-value insurance in every breakdown; GET /v1/intercity/lanes lists lanes with sample prices and shared departures. MCP tools list_intercity_lanes and get_intercity_quote. Lanes: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane; London, Birmingham; Los Angeles, Chicago, New York.

    apimcpproduct
  30. Console: sandbox mode, team roles, recurring deliveries, address book

Test keys create is_test deliveries against a simulated driver pool with no wallet movement. Admin, operator and viewer roles per key. Recurring deliveries with a schedule worker, an address book, HTML receipts, a request log, webhook test sends and brand settings for the tracking page.

    consoleapi
  31. Website and console in seven languages

English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian and Japanese, with locale-prefixed routes, hreflang alternates and localised driver push and OTP messages.

    websiteconsole
  32. Shopify app: same-day rate at checkout and auto-booking

Install from the embedded admin page or classic OAuth. A carrier service returns a live RentADriver rate at checkout, orders/paid books the delivery, and fulfilment plus tracking sync back to the order.

    integrations
  33. RentADriver launches: delivery API + MCP server

Quote, book, dispatch, track, proof of delivery and payment through one REST API and the rentadriver-mcp server. Live map, console, ops dashboard, RentADriver Go driver apps for iOS and Android, and the founding-driver programme.
